DORITOS TACO SALAD

Doritos Taco Salad consists of crispy Doritos, seasoned mince beef, shredded cheddar jack cheese, tomatoes, green peppers, black beans, corn, black olives, and iceberg lettuce in a delicious homemade tangy-sweet Catalina dressing. One of my go-to salads for potlucks and family gatherings is this one.

Finally, spring has arrived, and with it a ton of fantastic salads. This regulation applies to the Doritos Taco salad as well. The entire family loves this fantastic salad. It is simple to put together and versatile in so many ways! Perhaps you would prefer to replace the green peppers with freshly sliced avocados. You might prefer red onions over black olives if you don’t like them. As I often say, personalize it to your preferences.

Tips for making Doritos Taco Salad

  • Before adding the taco-seasoned beef, allow it to cool slightly. It shouldn’t cause your lettuce to wilt!
  • The taco salad can be made ahead of time; however, the dressing and chips should not be added until you are ready to toss and serve!
  • Blacken your corn for a twist that’s extra!
  • Switch out a particular ingredient if you don’t like it. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water, as I always say.
  • Mixing the salad dressing up to two days in advance is possible. The ranch dressing on this salad is equally satisfying.
  • The nacho cheese Doritos can be replaced with cool ranch Doritos.

Instructions

  1. Combine the olive oil, red wine vinegar, ketchup, honey, Worcestershire Sauce, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powders in a mason jar. Add the
  2. Worcestershire sauce. Well shake to combine. Refrigerate after covering.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Get rid of any extra grease. Add the water and taco seasoning and stir. The mixture should simmer for 5-7 minutes. Before adding the beef to the salad, allow it to cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Place the iceberg lettuce in a large bowl. Corn, black beans, cheddar jack cheese, and seasoned cooked beef are all great additions to this dish.
  5. Add the desired amount of dressing and crushed Doritos just before serving. Coat by tossing.

Notes:

  • Because you don’t want the taco-seasoned beef to wilt your lettuce, wait until you’re ready to toss and serve before adding the dressing or chips.
  • Blacken your corn for flavor.
  • Switch out a particular ingredient if you don’t like it. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water, as I always say.
  • Mixing the salad dressing up to two days in advance is possible.
